So, today I had the privilege of teaching in Sunday School church (Judea) from Proverbs 31:1-31. Okay, I know this is about the virtuous wife and these boys and girls aren't there yet. Well, being Mother's Day, we studied the characteristics of a virtuous Mother.
Here are the characteristics we identified:
1. Mother is a teacher-she has taught us lots of things and moral values, v.1-9.
2. She is a treasure,v.10.
3. She is trustworthy, v. 11.
4. She is a woman of action. She is good and does good to her family, v. 12.
5. She works with eager/willing hands, v. 13. She rolls out of her bed early to do those mundane chores.
6. She is a wise shopper, v. 14.
7. She is an early riser, v. 15. Why does she roll out earlier? She wakes up early to pray for her children and make breakfast etc.
8. She labors with diligence to benefit her family. She is prudent the way she invests money, v. 16.
9. She is hardworking/industrious. Mother oozes energy, excellence and diligence, v. 17-19.
10. She is generous, v. 20.
11. She is prepared for tough seasons and changing weather, v. 21.
12. She is a classy, elegant woman. She doesn't get lazy with her own appearance, she takes care of herself, v. 22.
13. She is respectful and respectable, v. 23. If your dad is respected mtaani, mama has influenced it.
14. She is a woman of dignity, v. 25.
15. She speaks with wisdom and gently, v. 26.
16. She is busy managing her household and she doesn't eat bread of idleness, v.27.
17. She is appreciated and praised by her children and hubby, v. 28.
18. She is honorable, v.29.
19. She fears God, v. 30.
20. She has earned her praise, v. 31.

Aren't Mothers virtuous women? God bless all mothers. You women are amazing. Your diligence in every aspect of life is commendable.
