#First_Peter_Three_Seven_Husband_Challenge
Dear Diary,
So, the other day I shared about the wifely-material. Today we focus on the Christian husband. Peter takes 6 verse to address the issue of wifely submission but only 1 verse to address the Christian husband, the brief instructions are deep though!
1 Peter 3:7, instructions to Christian husbands: first, the husband should be considerate; second, he must recognize and take into account the fact that his wife has less physical strength than him (weaker partner); third, the Christian husband must show his wife respect and not despise her physical weakness; fourth, the Christian husband must recognize that he and his wife are coheirs of the gracious gift of life. Lastly, a Christian husband must remember that a bad marital relationship can mar their relationship with God; it can hinder their prayers.
Wow! Imagine a submissive wife and a considerate, respectful husband= healthy marriage.

#Made_to_Last_Forever
Dear Diary,
Have you heard the cliche, "Nothing Lasts Forever?" As I reflect about my life I recognize that I've changed alot. And am consciously aware that my transition into eternity is fast approaching, eh I know this sounds incongruous. Am on Day 4 of #Purpose_Driven_Life by Rick Warren.
Last week mama and I had a convo about the shelf life of honey. I remember her saying that honey lasts forever if it's harvested and stored properly and I thought that was exagerated. I actually asked Google and much of what I got show that if honey is harvested properly, unprocessed and stored in cool, dry place tightly sealed, it is safe to consume indefinitely. Thinking of other things such as: grass grows and withers; flowers bloom and die; seasons come and pass...most don't last forever.
All beings die! But wait a minute! Rick Warren says, "I was made to last forever." Ecclesiastes 3:11 says God has planted eternity in the human heart. Surely, death is inevitable but it's not a termination but a transition into eternity. There's indeed more to the life than here and now. God designed us in His image-to live for eternity.
Warren tells us that eternity offers us only two choices:heaven or hell. Your choice today and your relationship with God will determine your relationship to Him in eternity. So, live now in the light of eternity. To make the most of your life, you must keep the vision of eternity continually in your mind.
Are you speculating how the eternity will be like? Well, no words invented by man can describe it but if you glean from the scripture, you can find a glimpse of eternity in God's revelation (Bible). The most important of all is, we shall enjoy unlimited, unbroken, uninterrupted relationship with God. Rick closes this chapter with a sobering reminder that, "Only a fool would go through life unprepared for what we all know will eventually happen (death-a transition into eternity). You need to think more about eternity, not less."
My friend, your lifespan here on earth is limited to a century, more or less. But eternity awaits you. Have you made a choice about your eternal destiny?
Regards

#The_Driving_Force
Dear Diary,
Today am on Day 3 of #Purpose_Driven_Life by Rick Warren.
How many of us can remember the Caltex Gasoline Station " What Drives You?" Campaign? Caltex Stations provided superior services but what happened to Caltex Brand in Kenya especially? What's driving us now?
Take lyrics of the song, "Jesus take the Wheel" written by Hillary Lee Lindsey, Brett James and Gordon Francis. This song tells of a young woman driving home for Christmas, to see her parents, with her baby sleeping at the back seat. She had alot in her mind; snowed roads; 50 miles to go and she was running low on faith and gasoline. She was going way too fast and before she knew it, she went into a skid. She feared for her and her baby's life. Instead of slamming on the brakes and steering the car in the right direction, like any ordinary driver, she threw her hands up in the air and said, "Jesus take the Wheel!" Is that even recommended in driving school? Miraculously, guided by Jesus the car came to a safe stop with her baby still asleep in the back seat. At that point she vowed to change. When Jesus is the driving force, you're safe!
According to Rick Warren, everyone's life is driven by something. Circumstances, values and emotions can drive your life. The writer of Ecclesiastes 4:4 observed that the motive for success is the driving force of envy and jealousy. He refers to it as meaningless and a chasing after the wind. There are countless things that can drive your life but all lead to a dead end. The most fulfilling driving force is GOD'S PURPOSE. When you are driven by God's purpose: it gives your life meaning; it helps you align your priorities properly; it gives you focus; it motivates and prepares you for eternity.
What is the driving force in your life?

#The_Wifely_Material
Nzaku Nashipae is feeling positive.
Dear Diary,
Ati mlisema wife material anapatikana wapi? Am telling you, the #First_Peter_Three_Challenge issa worthwhile challenge. You see, materialism, self -assertion, sex obsession etc have seeped into the world and church. Getting that wifely material is becoming elusive but there's hope. The first 6 verse of 1 Peter 3, this apostle devotes it to addressing the issue of #wifely_submission. This is a matter that's always thorny especially to some single ladies. This is an implication of what it means to be God's people. As a wife, it's imperative to submit to your husband and recognize his leadership in the family. In fact a wifely submissiion can win over her unconverted hubby. Actually, the hubby observes her purity of life and reverence for God and he is won over! As much as you make every effort to look gorgeous for your hubby, much effort must be made to cultivate an inner disposition of a submissive, gentle and quite spirit which is of great worth in God's sight. By the way, this is the way the holy women of the past used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their husbands. For example, Sarah. Her respect and obedience was evident even in her speech, she called him her master! #Nyie_eka_ngutavye! Above all esle submission to the Living God will keep a submissive wife from undue apprehension.
Ah, my #Future_Hubby should know I am a #Wifely_Material. I am challenged and will adjust accordingly. Fellow ladies, thank me later for sharing with you a wise wifely_challenge.
:-)

For Who?
Dear Diary
So, on Sunday while zubaa'n at our church's parking lot late afternoon, I picked a convo with a certain dude- I was wondering why he was still lingering around. Fast forward, he mentioned that he hadn't left because he was waiting for someone to deliver his car's insurance certificate. Okay, ujuaji yangu ikaniambia nimpe wise advise, "But hakuna traffic police leo Sunday. Actually, unaweza ishia! #SeeMyLife! With a smirk at me he said, "It's not even about the police. What if nichote msee au nigongwe?" Did I even say anything more? Actually, why do we have insurance certificates in our cars? Why do we wear safety belts? Why do we panda mathree in excess? Is it for the mean traffic police officers? Well, that got me thinking, many times I have worn my seatbelt for fear of the police and now I advised my friend to drive without the insurance because no traffic police on Sundays! Who does that?
I had a small meeting with myself and examined my intentions/motives. I realized there's a lot I do/don't do just because no one is watching me and/or I won't be caught. I thought louder, I shouldn't do something for fear of man but for my own safety, for the good of others, but above all else for God's glory. Colossians 3:17 says, "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it ALL in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
What you do or don't do, who is it for?
