Praying, Resting, Waiting Patiently And Trusting.

These are words that tell a story. As we wait for God to lead us, He responds, “Just seek My glory.”
Ever made a desperate prayer hoping that God would respond there and then? How did it go? Did He respond pap or did you have to wait for hour(s), day(s), week(s), month(s) or even year(s)?
Waiting is not always easy, but sometimes God wants us to stay right where He has put us. God will order your step and will direct your steps just in due time Psalm 37:23.
Yesterday (7th May 2012) morning I was really challenged and I thank God He spoke to me in my circumstance. As usual, was coming to work, I left my house at around 7:10am and by 7:15am I was in stage waiting for a mat. Sadly, the matatus were just passing and none was stopping to collect any passengers. I became somewhat impatient and restless. I didn’t want to be late for work.
At around 7:45am the 1st matatu stoped and I hustled my way in. The last guy entered and the Makanga checked  and said he wasn’t going to carry any excess person so he demanded I alight yet I wasn’t the last person to enter the mat in fact, I was the first. I tried to argue and told him, he should tell the last person who entered the mat to alight, but he insisted I get out. I refused to get out and the Makanga was so infuriated and was shouting at me, “Madam, get out now!” Humbly I alighted but I was so mad, felt like screaming at him considering that I was already late.
At around 7:52am another mat came but there were so many people, everyone was hustling to make their way in, I felt helpless because I couldn’t hustle like every other person, so I waited impatiently to get in the mat.
Finally, I managed to go in and got a seat and by 8:10am I was in the office. Thank God the mat didn’t make any stopovers.
Now, what’s my point?
Anytime we are desperately praying and waiting for something, we tend to become quite restless and impatient. We even fret and complain when those who come after us end up being served before we are served. Worst, a time we even try to push things our way.
When we are restless and impatient, we can easily miss out on God because even our Trust/Faith in Him seem to be senseless.
Now picture this, Numbers 9:15 On the day the tabernacle, the tent of the covenant law, was set up, the cloud covered it. From evening till morning the cloud above the tabernacle looked like fire. 16 That is how it continued to be; 17 Whenever the cloud lifted from above the tent, the Israelites set out; wherever the cloud settled, the Israelites encamped. 18 At the Lord’s command the Israelites set out, and at his command they encamped. As long as the cloud stayed over the tabernacle, they remained in camp. 19 When the cloud remained over the tabernacle a long time, the Israelites obeyed the Lord’s order and did not set out. 20 Sometimes the cloud was over the tabernacle only a few days; at the Lord’s command they would encamp, and then at his command they would set out. 21 Sometimes the cloud stayed only from evening till morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they set out. Whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud lifted, they set out. 22 Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out. 23 At the Lord’s command they encamped, and at the Lord’s command they set out. They obeyed the Lord’s order, in accordance with his command through Moses.
“...whenever the cloud lifted from the tent, the Israelites set out. Whenever the cloud settled over the tabernacle, they encamped.”
Sometimes, the cloud settle from evening to morning, other times just for a day(s), week(s), month(s), year(s)...
KEY POINTS
Know your seasons, there is a season to Rest and enjoy the goodness of the LORD, there is also a time to patiently Wait as we Trust God to work things out for us. There are times to move out and times to encamp. Whatever the case:-
Pray without ceasing, even when you don’t feel like it. Remember the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Jer 33: 3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know
Secondly, even as you pray Rest in His blessed assurance. Stand still and know that He is God. 2 Chro 20:17 “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged..., the Lord will be with you.”
Thirdly, Wait patiently. Remember delay is not denial the Psalmist wrote, “Psalm 40: 1 I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him. Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.
Lastly Trust in Him, the 4th verse of Psalm 40 says, “Blessed is the one who Trusts in the LORD.”
Conclusion.
Dear friend, no matter what circumstances you may be in; it may be an emergency according to you but God is never too early nor is He late. In His time, He makes all things beautiful.
Pray, Rest, Wait and Trust!
With Luv,
Kachel
