AMIDST ADVERSITY, GOD’S MERCIES ARE NEW EVERY MORNING.
Lamentations 3:1-66,
In this chapter Jeremiah weeps as he sees the rubble of the once glorious city that men called the perfection of beauty. He sunk to an incredible low because the people had turned against him and even threatened that they would kill him. Now it seems that even God has turned against him, vs. 1-20. Looking around, it is totally hopeless. Amidst adversity, we can HOPE AGAIN. We can put on a new set of thoughts into our minds. We can cease thinking about “I, Me and Myself” and start thinking about God. The new mind-set says “It is because of the Lord's mercies that I am not consumed.” If God had given to us what we deserved, we wouldn't even be here. It is only by God's mercies that any of us are alive today. God never ceases to love us.
"Great is Thy faithfulness." God is faithful to warn of what He would do. God is faithful to do what He warns. But more, God is faithful to love and show mercy.
As a result of our sin: panic, pitfalls, devastation, destruction, fear, depression, anxiety, affliction, rejection, pain, disease, sickness, heartbrokenness, and desolation may fall on us. Bad as things are, it is owing to the mercy of God that they are not worse. God's compassions fail not; of this we have fresh instances every morning. We can humbly turn to Him in repentance. The cure for depression and difficult moments is in looking up, being hopeful and putting on a new mind-set; “22 But this I call to mind, therefore I have hope. 23It is because of the Lord’s loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions never fail. 24They are new every morning; great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness. 25The Lord is my portion and my inheritance says my soul; therefore I have hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him. 26The Lord is good to those who wait [confidently] for Him, to those who seek Him [on the authority of God’s word]. It is good that one waits quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” We can be sure “31The Lord will not cast us off forever. 30He is with us in our afflictions. 55-57When we call out His name in the lowest pit, He will hear our voices and He will draw near to us.”
I can hope again amidst adversity because God’s mercies are new every morning. His compassion fails not.

Through the Unknown Trails and Treacherous Places, I have a Guide-God's Presence
Joshua 3:1-4, Joshua and the Israelites had set out from Shittim and camped at the banks of River Jordan for 3 days then the officers went throughout the camp giving orders to the people: “3 When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. 4 Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before….”
As we prepare to take another long trail in 2017, there will be bends, sheer cliffs, new discoveries, adventure, mountain vistas, and treacherous places too. It’s a little frightening, knowing you’ve never been this way before. But, a quick glance ahead reveals your Guide, God’s presence. God is the Way and He knows the way; He knows every cliff and bend; the treacherous places and He has made the necessary provisions, so trust Him to guide you. As you walk with Him through the trail, He will even teach you His wonders.
Dear Friend, as you face the New Year in few days’ time, to be precise in 26 days; the trail before you is masked in unknown. But don’t be afraid, Jesus will be there with you-Protecting, Encouraging, Guiding, Providing, and Being there for and with you.

Kachel

feeling inspired.
Hi guyz.
I know many of us here can identify with Paul in Acts 27:13-26.
2016 has been a good year with a mix of tears of joy and tears of pain for me. There were times I felt like I had it all working for me; I felt like I had all I wanted; a favorable and gentle wind blew my way and I set sail just to be battered by a hurricane shortly. So, I'd tell myself, girl, you gotta push, u've to make efforts to survive; you've to be in control; you've to keep your head up high and smile but the storm kept pushing me into the deep seas. Seemingly, neither sun nor stars appeared for many days, finally I lost all hope! Just then God spoke "KEEP YOU COURAGE. YOU CAN HOPE AGAIN."
Am sure some of us have been there, you felt like you had all you wanted but suddenly a storm begun battering you right left and center and probably you (have) lost all hope. I am here to encourage you, YOU CAN HOPE AGAIN. Keep your courage because God is saying to someone here that "The hurricane won't destroy you. You have a mission to accomplish."
Listen, as long as God has a purpose for your life and you are walking in OBEDIENCE and FAITH, following the leading of the Holy Spirit; though storms will come raging; though you may seem to loose all hope, God will protect you and will restore your courage and YOU CAN HOPE AGAIN. You can face life dangers and storms with courage, hope and assurance in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 16:1-2, nothing in this world is good if the Lord's presence and blessing are absent.

#The_Broken_Lifesaver
Dear Diary,
It’s been a
while I haven’t done my routine scribbling. Today I have a few journals to do. There’s
sanguinity in these tales, so sit and relax and let me scribble in you.
So, over the
weekend I travelled to Kyieni Girls, Runyenjes for a Sunday afternoon service
with my two friends. One of them eloquently delivered an inspiring sermon about
“Fully Trusting God and Leaning on Him.” As I did some reflections, I realized
sometimes I don’t seem to fully trust the Lord but I try to do some stuff my
way, only to be frustrated and disappointed. On finishing his sermon, he called
on the other friend to make an altar call. I bet I lifted my inner hand but kept
the physical hand seated on my lap. Well, it was a timely message and I needed
to hear it. After all, I trusted these gentlemen to chauffer me and safely
bring me back to the capital. If I could trust them with my life on the busy
superhighways and byways how much should I trust God to bring me to my destiny!
The lesson was hammered in the heart.
Fast forward, as we made
our journey back to the capital city, we hit the Thika Superhighway and there, we
ran on an empty gasoline! Why? What happened? We trusted the gasoline indicator
but it didn’t show the tank was running empty. But what about chauffer, didn’t
he have that 6th sense? Yes he did sense we were almost running on
empty tank but before we could get to a gas station (ok, let me say that so
that my friend does not shoot me for saying the truth ;), the car stops without
giving us enough time to pull off the express lane. Ok. Forgive my #Sofaset_Driving_School
skills but I suppose vehicles being what they are, they can break down anywhere
at any time. And when it’s on a major roadway in the dark, the danger is
doubled. By then am snoring at the back and they call me to get out. I panic
and move out very fast. Once I climb over the guardrail
to wait there, I realize I have only one shoe so I ask one gentleman to
get me the other shoe which he does. The other gentleman profusely searches the
boot and manages to get a broken lifesaver. He tries to make it stand using a
small boulder on the express lane but it can’t in fact a speeding car hits it
and so the only way is to stand on the guardrail and try to wave the triangle
hazard generously hoping and trusting the drivers are sober to see. The screeching
sounds of emergency-breaking cars are depressing. Being ladylike, I tried to
help the gentlemen-yes I did! I cut some branches from a thorny bush. To put
them on the road at least to signal there’s a stalled car ahead.
The other gentleman had
gone to get fuel and considering we are just recovering from cases of arson
attacks in our high schools, the gas station attendants are reluctant to sell
fuel to the gentlemen in a jerican but one of the ladies tells them, “Vile huyu
jamaa amedunga suti lazima ni mtu wa ‘my car’ hehe” and that’s how because of
being smartly dressed someone was trusted and got fuel hahahaa-The POWER OF
TRUST. Finally, gasoline arrived and after filling up we drove off.
What did I learn!
·
Importance of that 6th sense. Alert
and observant.
- Position yourself in the safest and best place
to maximise your visibility of potential hazards.
- Take a 'lifesaver' -make sure it is in good
condition.
- Be lady like and help-pluck tree branches or
thorny bushes to put on the road.
- Kuweka fuel ya 200/- ni vibaya hahaaa
#IDintSayHioNdioTulikuwaTumeweka
- If you are being chauffeured, trust, relax and
take a nap.
I’ll be
back with #Tale_of_Ukifika_Kwa_Ramps.

There is Power in the Name Jesus
WHAT IS IN THE
NAME-JESUS?
Christ invites
us to ask for anything/whatever we need from the Father (God) in His name. What’s in this name Jesus Christ? John 14:13-14, “...And I will do whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that
the Father may be glorified and celebrated in the Son.14 If
you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” John
16:23-24, “...whatever you ask the
Father in My name, He will give you. ...but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that
your joy may be full and complete.” Knowing the name of Jesus, the power
and authority it holds and how we are to use it comes from knowing our identity
in Christ. You must know who you are in Christ, that you are valuable, that you
are of the kingdom, you are from a world that cannot be shaken.
A humorous news reporter, Mr. Paul Harvey, told the story of
a three-year-old boy at the grocery store with his mother. Before entering the store, the mother
told the little boy, “No chocolate chip cookies, so don’t even ask!” As
they wheeled down the aisles the boy was quiet until he got to the cookie
aisle. He saw those delicious chocolate chip cookies, stood and said, “Mom, can I have the chocolate chip cookies?” Strongly
she said, “I told you not to even ask. No!” The boy was
quiet and they went on the isles but later they had to come back to the cookie
aisle again. Again the boy asked for the cookies but mama said, “Be
quiet. I said no.” Finally
arriving at the checkout lane, the little boy knew it was his last chance. He
had to do something quick. So he stood up in his seat and shouted as loud as he
could, “In the name of Jesus, may I have some chocolate chip
cookies?” Everyone around him began to laugh and applaud that
little boy. And because of the generosity of the
other shoppers, the little boy and his mother left the grocery store with
twenty-three boxes of chocolate chip cookies! He was very happy. God loves to
answer persistent prayers that are prayed in the name of Jesus. This may be a
funny story but let’s not forget the message. There is an authority attached to
using the name of Jesus.
What’s in the name of Jesus Christ?
When we pray in the name of Jesus, it is an acknowledgement
of our position in Jesus Christ; it’s obedience to His command for we cannot
pray in our own standing but in His; it means we are praying according to God’s
will; when we pray in the name of Jesus we pray in His authority. Indeed, there
is power in the name of Jesus. It is not just a magical chant. “His name is the
pass key to open heaven’s accounts” (Eddie & Alice Smith). The name of
Jesus is a mighty fortress, the righteous run into and they are safe, Proverbs 18:10.
Philippians 2:9-11, “God has highly exalted Jesus and bestowed on Him
the name that is above every name....” Mark 16:17; Acts 3:6; 4:30, Signs and wonders
are performed in the name of Jesus. Luke
10:17, Demons are subject to us in the name of Jesus. Romans 10:13, whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. 1 Corinthians 6:11, we were washed, sanctified, and justified in
the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
There is something about the name Jesus. The strongest word we can possibly speak out is
the name of Jesus. This name Jesus saves.
Dear friend, speak out the name of Jesus in the atmosphere.

Faith Focus vs Fear Focus, Numbers 13 and 14.
From the above
passages, those people had seen God’s
power and faithfulness but instead of continuing to trust Him, they murmured
and were afraid to trust Him to bring them to their destiny.
In Numbers chapter
13, God commanded Moses to send spies to spy the promised land. A representative
from every tribe went up to Canaan and 40 days later they returned and reported
back what they saw in the land. Ten of the spies’ report went like this, “Certainly
the land flows with milk and honey, but the inhabitants of the land are strong;
the cities are walled/fortified and very large; there are descendants of Anak
(people of great stature and courage,” vs 27-29.
But Caleb quieted the people saying,
“Let us go up at once and take possession of it; for we will certainly conquer
it,” vs. 30. Actually, the ten spies said, “We
are not able to go up against the people, for they are too strong for us”. In
fact, “We were like grasshoppers in
our own sight, and so we were in their sight,” vs 31, 33.
How blind and forgetful could they be? Many of us suffer this
same amnesia syndrome. We forget so easily the power and the faithfulness of
God and we allow fear to cripple us and hinder us from seeing and possessing
the destiny God has for us. I join with Shusho in praying, “Nipe (Mungu) macho
nione sawasawa.” What you see is what you become. If you see yourself as a
grasshopper so are you. Open your eyes and see clearly where God wants you to
be. Genesis 13: 14. “The LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him,
"Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward
and southward and eastward and westward; 15. For all the land which you see, I will give it to you and to your descendants forever.”
We miss our destiny because we lack faith focus. “See it. Believe it. Receive it.”
May the Lord help us to have a faith focus.
In chapter 14:2-4, instead of the people remembering the
goodness of the Lord in the past, they were filled with fear and murmuring. They
wished to die in the wilderness. They wished they died in Egypt. They even
wished to go back to Egypt. They saw their children and wives being plundered. What
a short-sighted and faithless congregation! Joshua and Caleb were filled with
grief to see how faithless the people were. They spoke to the assembly saying, “The land through which we passed as spies is an
exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this
land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey. Only do not rebel against the Lord; and do not fear the people of the land, for
they will be our prey. Their protection has been removed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them,” vs7-9. But the
congregation almost stoned them.
Because of
fear and lack of faith in God, their destiny was cut off. Their destiny was
delayed by 40yrs and tragically, all those who were 20yrs plus and murmured
against God died in the wilderness. In their arrogance, they even attempted to
go up to possess the land but God was not with them so they were defeated.
When we
fail to have a faith focused on God our destiny is delayed and worse, we may
even die prematurely and miss our eternal destiny. It is critical to trust God.
It is important to remember from where He has brought us from. It is necessary
to recount His faithfulness, and goodness. It is essential not to lose sight of
our destiny. If you have ever witnessed the power of God in your life, you
cannot to afford to lose your focus now. You cannot afford to forget all His
benefits.
My friend,
See it. Believe it. Receive it. Do not fear. The LORD is with.
Regards
Kachel

No Condition is Beyond God's Ability.
At Cana of Galilee, a certain official's son was sick to death. He heard Jesus was in the town & went to Him begging Him to go & heal his son. Jesus replied, "Go, your son will live." The man took Jesus at His word&departed. At exact time the son was healed & lived. John 4:43-54.
Later on, at the pool of Bethesda, a certain man was there who had been invalid for 38yrs & every time He came to the pool no one could help him into the pool. But when Jesus saw him&learned of his condition, He asked the invalid, "Do you want to get well?" He begun to complain that he didn't have the anyone to help him. The Twistier Road andThe Shortcut
Dear Diary,
It's been awhile haven't scribbled on you. I have been contemplating on taking a certain short cut but have got to rethink my decision. Now, let me scribble about an incident I had on Friday, 1/7/2016 about short cuts. You see, at around 10pm was going somewhere with a friend, so I called another friend to pick us. From the stage we stood at, we needed to drive a few meters to do a U-turn but this friend decided it was a waste of time to go all the way and do a U-turn in the designated area so he did a U-turn in a crossroad, "OMG! The camera!" I quipped. That was a short cut to avoid waiting in the jam. It saved us time yes but what if the NTSA Surveillance Cameras nabbed us or a traffic askaris?

Well, my Sofa-set Driving School fails me but I think you cannot take a short cut by doing a U-turn at a crossroad spot or probably I skipped the 'short cut class'! Ok, I give up! Let me put this thought aside and shift my focus from the shortcut (U-turn) to something I have been contemplating. There are some things have been praying for and I feel like have waited enough and am tempted to take a short cut! Am damn serious! A short cut is a quicker, shorter, or easier way to get to a place or a quicker or easier way to do something. Sometimes waiting isn't easy or comfortable.
You see, there's this voice that has been speaking within me, "God, I think I can reach this goal a whole lot quicker and easier my way than continuing to sit here, praying and waiting for your way. It's long overdue You know!" Actually been trying to scheme but again there's this other louder voice that's been telling me, "Woman, don't get distracted by short cuts. They're detours that will take you off track. Chill for a while!"
Ok. I'm consciously aware of what the Bible tells me about short cuts, and the consequences. For instance, Jesus, having fasted for 40days and 40nights, He was hungry and the Tempter came and said to Him, "Command these stones to become loaves of bread."
Men, Jesus was hungry, but He didn't take that short cut. Later, the Tempter told Him, "Jump from the top of this temple and angels will catch You." It would prove to everyone that Jesus was the Son of God and so would worship Him. You see, God's plan was for Jesus to die on the cross, not to commit suicide by jumping off the temple trying to show off. He was to glorify God by following the right path, Matthew 4:1-11.

Look here, short cuts have dire consequences. For the love of children or was it for being tired of the long wait of a promise! Sarah hatched a plan- she told Abraham to get Hagar, her handmaid pregnant! To-date, we are experiencing problems that have lasted for generations because of a mere short cut!
Ok, I quit contemplating the short cut. Let me wait!
Friend, would you take a short cut if there's a longer, twistier road available? Bryant McGill said, "Every short cut has a price usually greater than the reward."

DO WHAT HE (JESUS) TELLS YOU TO DO, John 2:5.
Good morning world!
I just finish reading a book, "What Would Jesus Pray?" and I learned a priceless lesson about prayer. Jesus' life was filled with prayer and everytime He OBEYED what His Father told Him. His desire was always to do the will of the Father and for His glory. It got me thinking, I have many things have been praying for and as I did a soul search this morning, I ask myself am I really ready and willing to OBEY what He tells me?
John 2:1-12, is a passage we all know-the wedding at Cana where Jesus performed His first sign by turning water into wine. His mother came and humbly informed Jesus that wine had run out. She further instructed the servants to do whatever Jesus would tell them to do. Then Jesus told the servants to fill the stone jars with water, draw some and give it to the stewards of the wedding. When the stewards tasted it, the water had turned to wine but they didn't know where it had come from(only th servants knew). Well, in my world, how could filling stone jars with water save the situation? It sounds incredible!
What shall I say? When we are in want, lets humbly spread our case to Jesus and refer ourselves to Him to do as He pleases. Am I really ready and willing to do what He'll tell me? God wants to do something extraordinary and unforgettable for His glory but am I willing to OBEY without question?
