The Greatest Blessing in Life

What is the greatest Blessing in life??

Psalm 5:12 says, "Surely, Lord, You bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favor as with a shield."

Let's take a journey.

In the bible, Blessing is depicted as a mark of God’s relationship with a person or nation.  It is a sign of God’s grace upon them.

The LORD God Almighty is the SOURCE. True blessings come from the LORD. Actually, Proverbs 10:22 states that the Blessings of the Lord makes one rich and adds no sorrow with it.

Who is Blessed?

The GREATEST and MOST Important blessing in this life is to be CHOSEN by God to be His people. Psalm 65:4 Blessed are those You choose and bring near to live in Your courts! We are filled with the good things of Your house, of Your holy temple.
John 15:16 "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you to
Deut 7:7-8 The LORD chose you not because in any way you deserved it, but simply because He LOVED you.
This blessing is a great honor and privilege.

To be Blessed by the LORD is more than just wealth.

Psalm 33:12, Blessed is the nation or person whose God is the LORD, the people He CHOSE for His inheritance. This Great Blessing knows no sorrow.

I have been born again for more than 12years now, the Spiritual Journey hasn't been without twists and turns, ups and downs but I have no regrets. It is the greatest miracle I've ever had. To be Chosen by God, not because I deserved or or I was better... Salvation is a mark of God's Grace upon me, such a great Blessing indeed.

This Gift of salvation comes with other benefits as Psalm 5:12a states that he LORD blesses the righteous.
The kind of blessing is not specified here because God's blessings are unlimited.
here are some of the other benefits that come with the Blessing of Salvation:

  • Holy Spirit Joel 2:28
  • Favor Ps 5:12b
  • Peace Ps 29:11
  • Health and Healing Jer 33:6
  • Forgiveness and Cleansing of Sin and Restoration Ez 36:25-26
  • And much more...
Stay Blessed

YOU ARE DIVINELY CHOSEN AND APPOINTED TO BEAR FRUIT THAT LAST.

Reading John 15:1-17 we get introduced to the GARDENER, the VINE and the BRANCHES.
Vs 16 says, “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit-fruit that will last.”
Jesus is the VINE and His Father is the Gardener and we His disciples are the Branches.
The Branch must stay connected to the Vine always and at all times. Vs 5 says, “I am the VINE; you are the BRANCHES. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear MUCH FRUIT; apart from Me you can do Nothing.
If you want to be fruitful in your life, the first and most important thing is that you MUST be CONNECTED to the Vine (Jesus).
Vs 2 says, the Gardener (God the Father) CUTS OFF every branch in the Vine that bears no fruit. It is evident; God is not in the business of keeping us in the VINE if we are not willing and ready to be fruitful.  You are not a statistic in the kingdom of God, God requires that you bear fruit and not just fruit but good fruit that will last. God has already given you the potential to be fruitful. He also PRUNES the Branch that does not bear fruit.
What is pruning and what are the reasons for pruning?
Pruning is a horticultural practice involving the selective removal of parts of a plant, such as branches, buds, or roots. Reasons to prune plants include deadwood removal, shaping (by controlling or directing growth), improving or maintaining health, reducing risk from falling branches, preparing nursery specimens for transplanting, and both harvesting and increasing the yield or quality of flowers and fruits.
The practice entails targeted removal of diseased, damaged, dead, non-productive, structurally unsound, or otherwise unwanted tissue from crop and landscape plants.
Note from the above definition, the pruning process is SELECTIVE and also TARGETED. I believe the process of pruning in our lives is purposeful. The Gardener (our Father) is very careful and intricate when cutting the branches. God is the perfect Pruner who has watched us grow, ever so patient clipping, cutting and forming us as He desires. He has watched us grow and He perfectly knows all the unsafe, unhealthy and unfruitful characteristics in our lives. He desires to prune those habits, characters, attitudes and perceptions that hinder us from growing and being fruitful according to His will.
While the process of pruning is meant to be fruitful, it is not without pain. James 1:1-4 says, count it PURE JOY whenever we face TRIALS of MANY KINDS, because you know that the testing of your FAITH develops PERSEVERANCE. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be MATURE and COMPLETE, not lacking anything. Spiritual pruning will produce the following characteristics: patience, endurance, steadfastness, refinement as unto silver and gold Mal 3:3, perseverance, character, experience and hope- Rom 5:3-4 also, it displays the faithfulness on God
Finally, John 15:7-8 says, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ASK whatever you wish, and it will be given you.” That’s the promise of the Father.
It is for His GLORY that you bear fruit vs 8. Your responsibility is:
1.      Constantly stay connected to the VINE
2.      Allow God to prune you.
3.      Maintain  close relationship with God through prayer, Worship, Praise and Word
4.      Be sure to obey His commands- Loving one another.

Be fruitful for God’s glory.

Appreciating my Pastors

  • "And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience. Overwhelm them with appreciation and love.” (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13)

The Clergy are men & women like other folk. They are imperfect, have shortcomings, get cranky, and are not always rock solid 24 hours a day. They get weary from wearing so many hats: preparing sermons, counseling, attending board meetings, preparing for Weekly and Sunday services, going on visitations, spending time with the family, making major decisions for family and ministry issues, etc.

The best we can do to support these men and women of God is to:
  • Be openly responsive
  • Submit to the leadership of our pastors
  • Treat them with proper respect
  • Pray, pray, pray for our pastors
  • Support them financially
  • Refrain from bad-mouthing, gossiping, and criticism

  • Today I take this opportunity to salute, respect and appreciate all the men and women who have sacrificially given themselves to serve the LORD with diligence.

Particularly, i want to applaud my PASTORS/MENTORS...

Bishop Mwatha- A friend of all and a man of wisdom.

Rev Irungu- i just love the way you preach without mincing words, you are a blessing.

Rev G, you also added so much value in my life- The first time, you saw Leadership skills in me and appointed me Leader in Tupos class and later on P57 Class and Youth service committee, You laid hands on me (can't forget the sermon- from 1 Tim 1:6- For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands)

Pastor Guchu, am proud to have you, thanks for always checking up on me and praying for me. Umekuwa wa baraka sana ( Just remembering the days when i was in high school and i used to come for the Worship team Keshaz-Kweli tumetoka mbali)

Pastor Kogi, I will forever be grateful- thank you for allowing God to use you- High School ministry has been a real joy since 2007- My first opportunity you gave me to minister at PEFA WEST DISTRICT Youth Convention at Ngando PEFA and at Kyieni.

Pastor Collins, i still remember the humble beginnings ( going to Dr. Aggrey,Muslim, Pumwani, St Brigits, Child survival primary schools and St Johns seeking for opportunities to preach in their PPI sessions- that zeal was really an inspiration. You gave me the courage and inspired the passion in me)

My Colleagues in Sunday school Ministry- You guyz ROCK. I luv, Respect and Appreciate you for your endless sacrifice and support in the ministry

Lastly and not least, all the members of Commissioners For Christ Ministry- Karumba'z, Mukui'z, Job'z the least is endless- You have all been such a blessing in my life.

I Humbly Salute and Appreciate these people for the sacrificial service for our LORD Jesus Christ.

I may not have Gold and Silver to give you all but i want you to know I LUV, RESPECT and APPRECIATE YOU.

    Luv
    Kachel
